About

Keith Haring’s imagery has become a widely recognized visual language. His pop art and graffiti-like work challenged the publics’ view of birth, death, sexuality, and war by raising consciousness rather than increasing consumerism. Haring was openly gay and one of the first to present homosexuality in a politically progressive way—enlisting his imagery to speak about his own illness and give others living with AIDS more visibility.
