Based on their original Saturday Night Live sketch, Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi released The Blues Brothers in 1980. It’s a tale of redemption for paroled convict Jake and his brother Elwood, who take on “a mission from God” to save from foreclosure the orphanage in which they grew up. To do so, they must reunite their R&B band and organize a performance to earn $5,000 to pay the tax assessor. Along the way, they are targeted by a destructive “mystery woman”, Neo-Nazis, and a country and western band—all while being relentlessly pursued by the police. Fast forward to today, the Blues Brothers has now become a cult-favorite. This Hooptie is based on fan art by British graphic design Olly Moss whose witty redesigns wound up leading to a successful career as a video game designer.
